![]() Today, our author, Adam Santo, shared a moment in his life to bring awareness to National Child Abuse Prevention month. His post 'Leave the Belt On' is a thought provoking piece about child abuse and what children remember of their youth.
Our author, Adam Santo, would like a few minutes of your time to talk about something he is supporting. Parkinson's Research.
We've begun a new year with high aspirations to do something worth notice, something we can be proud of and share with our friends. Everyone would like to see cancer cured, an end to AIDS, or abolish Fibromyalgia altogether. The world would be a happier place, no doubt. What about Parkinson's disease? Great strides have already been made to eradicate Parkinson's disease (PD), including the Michael J. Fox Foundation (MJFF). I single out MJFF because they put $0.89 of ever dollar towards research. When researchers stall out - show no advancement for a cure - they allocate funds to other promising efforts. At this point you might be asking yourself why I am supporting MJFF. Does he PD? Does he know someone who does? It is very simple - I care. I don't have PD. Although a friend of mine recently told me his father has PD, but my support had already been established before I learned that. Finding out someone close has a family member suffering from PD is enough justification that I am on the right path. How many people around you do you know with PD? It might be an eye-opener if you asked those close to you. Surprisingly, he had never heard of the Fox Trial Finder. It is where those with Parkinson's, and those without it, can participate in clinical studies towards finding a cure. As I have helped my friend, there is you can help me with. Share, donate, or just learn more about Parkinson's and the research being done to wipe it off the face of the earth. Check out my MJFF participant page to get you started or visit my personal page to see what I'm up to. How am I contributing to the cause? Well, purchasing any of my books sends a portion of the sale to MJFF. Any store, any format. A direct donation to the participation page is always welcome. All I'm really asking of you is to spread the word, bring an understanding of Parkinson's research to the masses this way. Share, share, share. ![]() We at Panhandling Fantasy are proud to announce the newest addition to our shelves - an audiobook!
